This guide will provide the majority of the basic ascension concepts. It will also include three recommended ascension routes to gain the most heavenly upgrades, a list of the enhancements you can use in each slot for permanent upgrades, and a listing of all the divine enhancements and their effects.

This guide is up-to-date in the versions of Steam Version 2.04 and web version 2.04, along with web version 2.031.

Ascension lets you trade the cookies you made this time to gain the most beautiful chip and prestige level. 

The former can buy permanent upgrades, and the latter can boost your production through the normal upgrade process. Ascension is a flexible game because you can pick the best time to ascend. However, certain times are more beneficial than others. 

Climbing at first with the smallest quantity of coins, like one, is not advised. The minimum amount to begin your ascension must not be lower than 213. 

The first ascent will typically be the longest of the bunch; however, it’s worth it.

This guide offers three ascension pathways to pick from. You can choose among them at any point but be aware that your ascension number may not be the same as that in the guide. This is fine.

17th Ascend

Box of Not Cookies (333,000,000,000)

• This is called the ascension count. This will be the 17th ascension. However, it’s OK to ignore this number if it does not match the ascension you’re currently on.
• The other number is the total price in heaven-like chips of the various heavenly upgrades you can purchase during this climb.
• The third number is Total PL refers to the maximum prestige level (equivalent in unspent or Heavenly chips) you’ll need after this climb to purchase the heavenly upgrades you have purchased until this level.
• The final number is the number of cookies baked over time and is a reflection of the total prestige level; however, due to rounding and the limitations of floating precision, the actual number could be a bit higher.
• The list below includes the names and prices of the various upgrades available to purchase this ascension.

These magnificent numbers of prestige and chip are not mandatory minimums. It’s OK to go over and reduce the amount you’ll need for your subsequent ascension. 

And if you exceed by a significant amount, you could be able to mix two or more ascends into one. 

This can be beneficial in the case of Lucky Digit, Lucky Number and Lucky Payout, which require that you end your prestige with a specific number of sevens. 

In contrast, the cost of any heavenly upgrades before that point does not finish in the particular number of 7.

It is important to note that this guide uses a comma to divide thousands and a point to denote the decimal.

Post-Heavenly Upgrades

In the past 2,237,247,776,092 PL, it is recommended to slow down your progress to work on other achievements you could be seeking, specifically those that are the 100 or 1000 ascending ones, since, in general, they are longer and more demanding the higher your prestige levels are. Additionally, if you choose to skip Lucky Digit, Lucky Number, Lucky Payout, and Lucky Payout, be sure to obtain these before reaching the nine quadrillion mark in prestige levels, or they’ll be impossible because of the nature of floating-point accuracy. 

In other words, you should aim at minimum the status of your prestige by this point onwards as you climb.

Permanent Upgrade Slots – Cookie Clicker Ascension Guide 

Use this list if your total prestige level is between 213/440/2337 (first ascend) and 123,692,220,538-132,692,220,538 (when you purchase Fortune Cookies) – slot these upgrades in as you unlock the slots.

1. Highest kitten
2. The highest Idleverse upgrade (Javascript Console if you own zero or only the smallest number of Idleverses (less than fifty) in the past run. This is the situation with early ascents)
3. 2nd highest kitten
4. Omelette, a biscuit for building or a frequency upgrade for GC
5. A GC frequency upgrade or baking biscuit (depending on whether you’ve shot too high or not, you may not have this)

Use this list if your prestige level is over 123,692,220,538-132,692,220,538 (any progression run after having Fortune Cookies).

Building biscuits are upgrades when you own at least 100-500 of every building. They are rectangular and are also known as “butter biscuits, ” adding 10% to the production multiplier.

Past 2,237,247,776,092 PL Your parma slots will depend on your requirements, like the possibility of using Cosmic Beginner’s Luck but don’t wish to delay buying costly upgrades, or you want to get some critical Christmas upgrades done first, such as an omelette.

• Heavenly Cookie (3) Production of cookies multiplier +10%, permanency (+10 per cent)
• Learn to Bake Your Dragon (9) This program allows you to purchase an egg that is crumbly after baking one million cookies in ascending order (+100-250 per cent)
• The Box contains brand biscuits (25). The Box includes various biscuits (cookies to boost the production multiplier) (+26 per cent)
• Tins made of British tea Biscuits (25) The Tin of British Tea Biscuits (25) contains different biscuits (cookies to boost the production multiplier) (+12 per cent)
• Tin of Butter Cookies (25) The Tin of Butter Cookies contains an assortment of cookies made from butter (to increase the multiplier of production) (+21 per cent)
• A box made of Macarons (25) This Box includes various macarons (to boost the production multiplier) (+26 per cent)
• The Starter Kit (50) You begin with ten cursors. It doesn’t affect the cost of starting, i.e. the first cursor will cost 15 cookies (+<1 per cent)
• “Heavenly Luck” (77) Golden cookies are seen five times more frequently (+0-30 per cent)
